TP Mazembe Means Business In The Champions League-Diego Garzitto

TP Mazembe coach Diego Garzitto has wrapped up his teams week-long training camp tour of Zambia and declared that his side meant business in their title defence of the Orange CAF Champions League.

The DR Congo giants from Lubumbashi spent a week in the northern Zambian region of the Copperbelt where they played four friendly matches against local teams based in the Copper mining province.
“The Champion’s League is not a league to play with, it is strong and tough and people who play in that league should be tough and strong,” Garzitto said.
“TP Mazembe is a big and strong team and we are going to make sure that we win the Champion League once more.”
TP Mazembe launch their group stage phase of their title defence with an away Group A clash against Zimbabwe’s regular Champions League campaigners Dynamos in Harare during the weekend of July 16-18.
Meanwhile, Garzitto added that TP Mazembe’s seven-day training camp tour in Zambia was a success.
“The outing to Zambia has been a success and the teams we have played against on the tour competitive. For me, I can say that my team had a good outing,” the Italian-born coach said.
During their training camp of Zambia, TP Mazembe drew 1-1 with Power Dynamos and Zesco United before defeating Nchanga Rangers 1-0.
They wrapped up their training camp with a 2-2 draw on June 26 with a second friendly match against Power Dynamos in Kitwe.
