Nick Leonovich U.S. Memorial Service Set

A U.S. memorial service has been set for Nick Leonovich, 84, a senior missionary with Slavic Gospel Association (SGA), who has just passed away after being seriously injured when he fell down a flight of stairs during a visit to Ukraine.

The Russian-born veteran broadcaster sustained a severe head injury while he was in Ukraine to represent Slavic Gospel Association (SGA) at the commencement ceremonies for at the SGA-sponsored Irpen Biblical Seminary, located in Kiev Oblast (province) of northern Ukraine.

He was hospitalized in a coma for two days, and never recovered from his injuries.

Dr. Robert W. Provost, President, Slavic Gospel Association, said in a message to SGA supporters, “The memorial service will be held Friday, June 7, at 1 p.m. at Shadow Mountain Church in San Diego, California. The Leonovich Family, as well as the SGA family at large, is deeply thankful to Pastor David Jeremiah, and to former Shadow Mountain Pastor Tim LaHaye for helping to organize the service.

“Irpen Biblical Seminary in Ukraine also held a memorial service for Nick today (Sunday, May 26, 2013) as part of their commencement weekend.

“There may be additional details and information regarding the memorial service, so please check SGA’s website, www.sga.org, as often as possible this week. We will pass on any additional information as we have it.”

Dr. Provost added, “Again, I want to thank all of SGA’s faithful partners in ministry for your prayers, your many messages of condolence, and your fond memories of Nick Leonovich and his 62 years of faithful service to Christ. Please continue to intercede for Nick’s beloved wife Rose, their children, and family as they walk through these difficult days.”
