Lockerbie Family Member Responds To The Libyan Crisis
As the world watches in horror as Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi continues to terrorize his own people through attacks by hired mercenaries, Lockerbie family member is raising funds to provide much need medical supplies for the Libyan people.
On Wednesday of this week Expressen, a Stockholm-based tabloid, reported that Former Libyan justice minister Mustafa Abdel-Jalil said in an interview that he has proof Gaddafi gave the order to Abdel Baset al-Megrahi to blow up Pan Am flight 103. This caused shock around the world to some who have questioned whether Megrahi and the country of Libya was really responsible.
Lisa Gibson’s 20-year-old brother, Ken, was among 270 people killed in the attack. Gibson met Gaddafi in 2009 when he visited New York to attend the U.N. General Assembly. She says the Libyan government’s agreement to compensate victims’ families showed her that it had acknowledged responsibility.
“I’m not surprised to hear that this justice minister is saying this, but I am a little bit surprised that he has been outspoken about it, because what that tells me is the last remaining alliances that Gadaffi has among his leadership are now turning against him,” Gibson said, adding that the Libyan people themselves will deliver justice.

“My heart goes out to the Libya people who are also victims of terrorism. I believe they are going to put an end to Gaddafi, and I think that’s going to be the ultimate justice we will see to Gaddafi in this lifetime. Than God will judge him and that is the result I’m comfortable with.” Gibson said
Gibson said she is glad this revelation finally puts to rest rumors and conspiracy theories that others were behind the bombing that killed mainly Americans.
Gibson has shifted her focus to responding to the crises in Libya. She founded the nonprofit the Peace and Prosperity Alliance to assist in situations like this. The Peace and ProsperityAlliance has now begun the process of collecting donations of funds for medical relief supplies for Libya. The reports are that the hospitals and clinics are completely depleted of medical supplies and there are increasing casualties. The Peace and Prosperity Alliance has been providing humanitarian and educational assistance to Libya for five years.
“Libya is not like Egypt and Tunisia and does not have the infrastructure to withstand this crises. So, we are doing everything we can to help.” Gibson said.
Tax-deductible donations are being accepted for the Libya Relief Fund at www.peaceandprosperityalliance.org or can be mailed to the Peace and Prosperity Alliance at PO Box 63103 Colorado Springs, CO 80962.
