Lee University to offer MBA Program in the fall of 2013
Lee University has unveiled its newest degree program, the Master of Business Administration (MBA), to begin in the fall of 2013.
“We designed the curriculum with a focus on experiential learning so that students begin applying theory in the first course. I am confident that our MBA graduates will be well prepared to add value to their organizations,” said Program Director and Associate Professor of Business Dr. Shane Griffith.
Lee’s MBA emphasizes a socially responsible, ethics-guided approach to deliver high impact financial performance, while equipping individuals with a faith-based approach to senior-level leadership in industry, government, and non-profit organizations.
“We’re excited about the hybrid format,” Griffith added. “It provides flexibility, showcases our talented classroom teachers and still takes advantage of all the benefits of a technology infused learning experience.”
Students complete two courses per semester through this hybrid format merging traditional in-class and online components. A class will meet for three hours in a classroom setting for one evening, every other week. The two courses alternate weeks for their classroom sessions. Between classes, students will use online resources for assignments and peer interaction.
Students are expected to complete two courses each Fall, Spring, and Summer semester, and should complete the degree requirement of 36 hours within six semesters or two years.
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges notified Lee officials in July that the program had its full accreditation, making it the first graduate degree offered by Lee’s Department of Business.
The business department, led by Dr. Dewayne Thompson, received national accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs in summer of 2008.
