Nearly two thousand people joined together last night (February 3, 2011) at Mariners Church in Irvine, California, in celebration of a great milestone – Birth Choice turned thirty years old.

Birth Choice is a nationally recognized provider of women’s health services consistent with valuing life. In support of the event, Bruce Wilkinson, renowned author of “The Prayer of Jabez” and “You Were Born For This”, spoke to the captive audience about his confidence in Birth Choice and its mission.
“I am honored to speak at this event tonight. Birth Choice is on the front lines of ministry. It has saved over 6,500 lives over the course of 30 years and is truly at the edge of a huge breakthrough. This organization and all of us tonight – we are the people that can do something about it. God has empowered us to make his wish come true and save lives through His organization – Birth Choice,” said Wilkinson.
A news release sent to the ASSIST News Service by Stacey Kaszton of La Voz Marketing (http://lavozmarketing.com), explained, “Starting as a small pregnancy resource center in 1981, Birth Choice Health Clinics has grown to include six fully licensed community clinics serving Orange and Los Angeles counties.

“In addition, a seventh clinic will be opening in Napa Valley this March. Kathleen Eaton, the founder and CEO of Birth Choice, runs the organization with conviction and Christ in her heart.”
Eaton states, “We are very excited to celebrate our 30th Anniversary of providing true and informed choice to thousands of women facing crisis pregnancy. We have accomplished so much, thanks to our Lord, but we still have an arduous path ahead of us.”
The news release then went on to say that “Kathleen Eaton truly understands the importance of establishing partnerships to form a consolidated front against abortion and has partnered with various churches over the past 30 years.”
Birth Choice’s sixth clinic, the area’s first mobile unit, was funded by one of these partners, Yorba Linda Friends Church, and began service in October 2010.
Matthew Cork, lead pastor of the church, says, “Our church recognized the need to be more involved in the pro-life ministry. We wanted to partner with people that were already doing great work – and Birth Choice was the clear choice. We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this.”
For those attending, the event was a truly powerful occasion and united people from all walks of life for a common cause.

“Birth Choice is a ministry that brings together people from all denominations. The men and women behind it are tireless, passionate and compassionate. That’s what we like about it. Mariners Church is privileged to be a partner with Kathleen and Birth Choice,” said Eric Heard, Pastor of Spiritual Growth and Men’s Ministry for Mariners.
Birth Choice provides education, medical services, resources and a support system to women in crisis.
The news release went on to say that Father Al Baca, Pastor of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, another Birth Choice partner, said, “Kathleen and Birth Choice are a powerful witness to the sacredness of all life, from beginning to end. The right to life is a threaded part of Catholic design. Birth Choice is a perfect fit for us.”
Stacey Kaszton’s release then added, “Unique from other ministries out there, Birth Choice goes to the root of the issue and gives women the opportunity to be educated on all of their options. They don’t just serve as a voice or point the finger; they go out and do on the ground level. Birth Choice ministers to the whole person, as well as the fathers through The Dad’s Project, a men’s mentoring ministry.”
Tommy Hilliker, Pastor of Membership at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, says it best, “Birth Choice acts as the hands and feet of Jesus. I don’t believe the staggering rate of abortion is going to change by law, this is going to change by love.”
The release concluded by saying, “The event concluded with a powerful ask to donate in support of Birth Choice’s endeavors. Over $785,000 was raised in support of the fight for life. The churches and the people truly came together to take action and make a change – a change stemming from love.”
Birth Choice Health Clinics is nationally recognized for its influence, quality of care, and innovation. It offers medical services, education, and support for family, marriage, sexual and reproductive health, consistent with the inherent value of every human life. Birth Choice is one of only a few medically licensed pro-life clinics in California devoted to taking care of the whole woman; physically, emotionally and spiritually, while also addressing the sexual health of young men.
Birth Choice says that it strives to be the first place young people go to be educated on all of their options. Considered one of the leading pro-life organizations in the country, it networks its programs and services to other pro-life ministries, creating and supporting a “Legacy of Life” from generation to generation.
