U.S. Ambassador to Syria Leaves Damascus Amid Threats to Safety

By  Published: 24th October 2011

The New York Times (October 24, 2011) titles: “U.S. Ambassador to Syria Leaves Damascus Amid Threats to Safety”.
Even if the ambassador’s actions in Syria were far from diplomatic, they do not deserve threats to his life.
But, do you think that trying to help overthrowing President Assad do not represent a threat to Assad’s life?
Can we say that Syrian propaganda against the US is a normal response to US and the ambassador’s propaganda and actions against the Syrian regime?
By what we have seen in Libya it is not only a threat against the regime but it is also a threat to all racial and confessional minorities’ lives and to peace in the Middle East; have we forgotten that the Gulf kingdoms are financing an armed sedition in Syria, by fanatic extremists like the Moslem Brothers, the Salafites and even Al Qaeda?
So, the threats against the Ambassador’s life could come not only from the regime but from any person and group feeling threatened by his actions.
