Dear ANS friends: I trust you are all keeping well. Thank you for all your prayers regarding the Basel Cell cancer that my doctor recently discovered on my forehead. I am due to have surgery to remove this small cancerous growth tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9:00 AM, so I would value your prayers for a successful operation.

Dan Wooding addressed a TV audience in |
I had a wonderful visit to Seoul, South Korea, and met up with many old friends there and I hope you have enjoyed the various stories I have filed from the trip. I was also featured on Korean TV on a couple of occasions during my time there. For those of you who so kindly contributed to my new camera for the trip, I wish to thank you so much for your kindness and want you to know that it was put to good use – and will continue to be.
Seal Beach shootings
Norma and I have just returned from visiting Seal Beach, our favorite Orange County seaside town where last Wednesday, the peace of this quiet community was shattered when eight people were killed and one was injured in a shooting at a hair salon. It was the deadliest mass murder in Orange County history and took place at about 1:21 p.m.

Many visited the salon in the afternoon following the massacre to leave flowers and messages |
Police had a single suspect in custody, 42-year-old Scott Evans Dekraai of Huntington Beach, identified by witnesses and hair salon employees as the ex-husband of one of the salon employees.
The scene outside the salon today was so moving with hundreds of floral tributes and messages left by well-wishers, and we both realized how fragile like can be and how we need to live our lives to the full while we can.
News release information
A service that we are providing for Christian ministries is to send out pre-written news releases to our 2,600 media subscribers around the world, and also to you in our ANS family. We charge a modest fee for this, but this really helps us continue and also gets out the message that ministry wishes to get out to a large audience. If you would like more information on this, just send me an e-mail at assistnews@aol.com and let me know a little about your ministry and I’ll then send you details of how this works.
Background on ASSIST
For our many new subscribers, I thought I would include a little information about ASSIST. We are a faith-based ministry, meaning that we don’t charge for our news service, but instead trust the Lord to cover our many expenses in bringing you all of our stories into your in-box each month.
So if you would like to help ASSIST continue to bring our unique stories into your in-box, we would be honored if you would consider making a donation to help this faith-based news service. We are dependent on friends like yourself to help us continue to provide this important material.
All you have to do is go to our secure site — www.assistnews.net/assist/donations.htm – and then click on “Where Needed Most” or designate your gift for the support of Dan and Norma Wooding. (We are blessed when friends like you stand with us in this way.)
If you prefer to send a check, just make it out to ASSIST (tax deductible in the US) and mail it to ASSIST, PO Box 609, Lake Forest, CA 92609, USA.

Geoff Richards during a previous visit to KWVE |
My special guest this Sunday (October 23, 2011) for Front Page Radio on KWVE 107.9 FM at 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) is world missionary, Geoff Richards, who has served in India, Nepal, the Middle East, the UK, and his homeland Australia, and has become a joyful cancer pilgrim to the world despite battling prostate cancer now for several years. This amazing Christian, who has suffered a series of terrible set-backs in his life that would have crushed many, is again touring the world bringing his message of hope, and I caught up with him during the most recent leg of his tour in Irvine, California.
If you don’t live in the area, you can hear it by going to www.kwve.com
Well, there you have it. Please feel free to send me your stories ideas and your prayer requests at assistnews@aol.com. I am always delighted to hear from you. And, once again, thank you for your prayers about my health situation.
Many blessings to you all! Dan Wooding
